 ENGR LARRY ESIN  HELD ORO TO A STAND STILL TODAY, MONDAY 16TH MAY, 2022

The Governorship Hopeful for the All Progressive Congress(APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Engr Larry Esin was overwhelmed with tears of joy when about 15 buses loaded with his supporters made up of the two major political parties in the state and across the 3 major ethnic groups in Akwa Ibom State took him by surprise at the Victor Attah International Airport Uyo. Expectantly, immediately it was filtered into the ears of the passers by that Engr Larry Esin was in town, everyone rushed to see his face with a new released song in town "Larry Esin for all! All for Larry Esin!".

His entourage to Oron to officially consult his people was made up of people who never heard about his coming, but decided to join up because Akwa Ibom people are tired of bad governance in the state and they need change. The Oro Global Entrepreneur moved directly from Uyo with his team to the palace of his Paramount Ruler in Uya Oro, where he officially consulted the royal fathers amongst which were the Paramount Ruler of Oron LGA, HRM Ofong Odiong Akan, the Paramount Ruler of Udung Uko LGA, HRM Odidem Bassey Etim Edet, HIs Highness, Ofong Ekeng and many traditional rulers where he made his intention to contest for Akwa Ibom State governorship under the platform of the APC known. In response, the royal fathers blessed him and assured the Larry Esin team of Oro's unwavering supports behind them. 

The Akwa Ibom born American business man also consulted the village head of his village, Udung Esin and the village council, and Eyobasi group of villages at Eyobasi town hall before proceding to the Oron Civic Center to consult the Obio Ifong Isong Oro (OIIO) under the leadership of the Paramount Ruler of Urue Ofong Oruko, HRM, Ofong Matthew Unanaowo. 

The last, but not the least people he consulted at the same Oron Civic Center today was the Oron Union. The former CPC gubernatorial candidate for Akwa Ibom State in 2011 appealed to Oro people to support someone that has the capacity to develop, transform and who is able to drive out hunger from the state. "There is too much hunger in the land" he added. Speaking further, the Oron born politician said he was not against zoning, but condemned in strong terms the type of zoning currently in practice in Akwa Ibom State and described it as faulty.

As one of the grand sons of Chief Anwana Esin who bought the first exercise book used for the meeting that gave birth to the Oron Union in 1925, he spoke to his people fluently in Oro language and said he has every right to contest for 2023 Governorship in the state, and that even though this is going to be his forth time, he emphasized that he was going to win the 2023 guber election in the state by God's grace.

Engr. Larry Esin thanked Oro people for always standing by him in all the previous election he had contested, and also appealed to Oro people to continue to give him their full supports even as he runs again in the 2023 race. Larry Esin pleaded for mercy and asked Oro people and by extension, the Akwa Ibomites to forgive him of whatever thing he had done that may have offended them and promised to make them proud if he becomes their next governor.

H.E. Engr Amb. Etim Udo Uye, Ikpoto Oro, responding on behalf of the OIIO, said "ókpósóñ ituk asiakasiak onwi mmón esi k'onyi". He advised the Engr Larry Esin Campaign Team to work hard because there's nothing impossible with God. The PG of Oron Union, Bishop Etim Ante represented by the Assistant Secretary General, Dr Godwin Esu appreciated him for his courage to be in the race and charged him not to be afraid because his father was behind him. The PG also said that the Oron Union was not going to ask him of his plans for Oro people as they asked others because Engr Larry Esin is an Oro plan himself.

Prominent amongst the Larry Esin Campaign Team were Hon. Engr Ime Mbom, the first Chief Whip of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mr. Eteyen Okwong the SA to the Deputy Senate President, Engr. Koko Nyong Bassey, Captain Effiong Eyo, Elder Anwana Esin Jnr, Engr Samson Sam, Hon. Peter Bassey, Comrade Emmanuel Okpoekuenyin and many others.
