 AKAN OKON SUES FOR PEACE, UNITY AMONG ITU, IBIONO IBOM YOUTHS 

The Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, Mr Akan Okon, has sued for peace and unity among the youths of Itu and Ibiono Ibom LGA of Akwa Ibom State. 

Mr. Okon made the call yesterday, while declaring open the Governor Udom Emmanuel's Unity Tournament for Itu/Ibiono Ibom Youth held at St. Peter's Primary School Play Ground, Ibiono Ibom LGA. 

He encouraged the youths to embrace sports as a vehicle for development and togetherness. 

While describing sports as an avenue of raising energetic youths that can take active part in nation building, Okon called on the various teams in the competition to uphold the rules governing the tournament.

He lauded the host of the tournament, King-pele Godwin  for his forthrightness in organising the event and opined that through the competition, talents would be discovered and groomed for bigger athletics. 

Mr Okon pledged to continually support good aspirations of Itu and Ibiono Ibom youths.









The event was also graced by the 

Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Frank Archibong, Member representing Ikono State Constituency, Hon. Asuquo Nana, former PDP Chairman, Obong Paul Ekpo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical Matters and Due Process, Elder Ufot Ebong among others.
