ORON FEDERAL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE 2023: CAPTAIN EFFIONG EYO CNC (RTD) VOWS TO RESTORE ORO NATION’S GLORY

ORON FEDERAL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE 2023: CAPTAIN EFFIONG EYO CNC (RTD) VOWS TO RESTORE ORO NATION’S GLORY

By Francis Enyikang

A leading and the most vocal aspirant for Oron Federal constituency election, Captain Effiong Eyo, has assured to re-establish the Oro nation’s lost glory, by tackling every single problem Oro is facing and going all out to ensure everything is being carried out without any fear or favour, if given the mandate to represent the Oro people in Abuja.

Effiong, who was the first to establish a community whatsapp platform in Oro Nation to gather who is who in Oro at home and in diaspora to discuss and provide solutions to Oro critical issues at the comfort of their houses, promised to establish a network of Oro thinkers across the world to brainstorm and produce blue prints for him to make Oro’s voice heard in the Green Chamber. The Oro ex-army special force said this recently in Udung Uko while interacting with his supporters during the weekend.

He argued that he was afraid that Oro people now see themselves as grasshoppers before their neighbours, adding, "we are not going to blame anyone for the state of Oro Nation today, rather, we shall all work together to ensure we re-establish our lost glory, so that our children and the generation of Oro people yet unborn will not be angry with us.”

While he believes that all the contestants have what it takes to give Oro a facelift in 2023, the retired military officer suggested that Oro people should go for someone who has been in constant services to Oro Nation, who has the antecedent and has served with different Oro leadership, thereby making him very conversant with what Oro desires at the moment.

He advised Oro against casting their votes for a candidate simply because he/she has come with money to entice them now that election is approaching, he charged them to ask such people why did not they not bring the money when Oro was appealing for people to fund the Oro Redemption Account, when Oro people were donating money to fight the attempted relocation of Ibaka Deep Seaport from the preferred location at Ibaka bay to a seashore where they planned to build a dugout port, when we were fighting for the upgrade of Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN) Oron to full fledge University of Maritime Studies Oron (UMSO), when Oro people sacrificed their meagre resources to fight for the recognition of the 5 LGAs of Oro as oil producing communities,  and many more?

The Chief Admin of Oron Issues Solution Whatsapp Platform created on the 25th of May 2014 said, "We have identified the problems, and we will work together to proffer the solutions that will culminate into re-establishing the Oro Nation’s lost glory in the next 4 years. I am coming to operate in a familiar terrain, with the people I have worked with since I retired back to my fatherland in 2013."

After addressing his supporters, Captain Effiong read out an excerpt from the Manifesto of Oro Rebirth Agenda 2023;

1. I will set up a formidable think tank to think for me and we shall be meeting at my constituency office regularly.

2. I will support youths’ development in Oro (Older people should allow the younger ones to contest for electoral offices in Oro, because the future belongs to them.

3. I will restore peace and unity in all the institutions in Oro within my 360 days in office.

4. I will work hard to actualise the establishment of the University of Maritime Studies Oron.

5. We will establish a forum for regular meetings and discussions between the five LGA Chairmen, the four State House Members and the House of Representative Member.

6. We will partner with foreign investors to build a Warehouse in Oro to manage our sea businesses. Non-indigenes will not be allowed to dominate our fishing ports anymore.

7. My team will do everything possible to ensure that Ibaka Deep Seaport is not relocated and the 5 LGAs of Oro are given oil statuses.

8. We will partner with foreign investors to establish a functional ferry business between Oro and other parts of the world.

And I will produce 5 millionaires across the 5 LGAs of Oro.

12. There will be a forum for all the past House of Representative Members in Oro to meet for strategic planning.

A pledge to serve:

I pledge to Oro my Nation, to be faithful, loyal and sincere to Oro people, to serve Oro with all my resources and to ensure I put Oro's interests first before my personal interest. So help me God.—Captain Effiong Eyo cnc (Rtd)

SUPPORT ME BASED ON MY TRACK RECORDS, CAPTAIN EFFIONG EYO CNC (RTD) TELLS ORO PEOPLE. The voters in Oron Federal Constituency have been encouraged to support aspirants who have tangible and sincere plans to represent Oro people in Abuja effectively from 2023. The Udung Uko born retired military officer, who said this while consulting his kinsmen today (March 12, 2022) at his Eyosung residence, told them that by his track records,  he was the best man for the job for now. The Oron born activist said "when God wanted to deliver Israel from the hands of the Philistines, He sent David. When God wanted to set Israel free from the land of Egypt, He sent Moses; and now God is preparing to send him to set Oro people free, because it's always one person at a time." He revealed to his people  that there is no challenges Oro people are passing through that he was not aware of, and made his readiness to use his wealth of knowledge, experience, exposure, connection and boldness to ta

Akan Udofia's Governorship Quest Hits Brick wall.

Akan Udofia's Governorship Quest Hits Brick wall. By Udofia Anana It is not yet Uhuru for Obong Akanimo Udofia  whose APC governorship nomination was announced amidst widespread protests in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital city, recently. The announcement which came after a hurried midnight poll has been roundly rejected by party members and close party watchers. Obong Udofia, known to many as AK,was a governorship aspirant in the Peoples Democratic Party, until  four days to the APC primaries in the state.  An APC stalwart who spoke to the reporter on the condition of anonymity in Uyo said Akan Udofia's  Governorship candidacy lacks credibility because he was not elected by party delegates. According to him," After waiting at the party Secretariat on Ekpo Obot street, Uyo for eight hours,we were told to go home, that the nomination had been postponed till the next day. It was therefore shocking to hear that Obong Akanimo Udofia was elected in the night after the delegates

Nigeria Being Brought To Ruin By Useless Criminals’, TY Danjuma Knocks Military, Insists On Self-Defence Kayode Oyero

‘ Updated October 22, 2022 Former Chief of Army Staff, Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, says Nigeria is being brought to ruin by heavily armed “useless” criminals. The former defence minister, who insisted on self-defence to drive out country’s common “enemy”, said Nigeria will be finished if this is not done. The octogenarian spoke on Saturday when he delivered a goodwill message in Wukari, Taraba State, where Governor Darius Ishaku presented staff of office to His Majesty Manu Ishaku Adda Ali, the 25th Aku Uka. He knocked the military for living in denial over Nigeria’s aggravating security challenges, saying the “evidence” of what he said four years ago is now obvious for all eyes to see. Danjuma had in March 2018 urged Nigerians to defend themselves against their killers but his call for self-defence attracted stark criticisms. Four years later, the former defence chief on Saturday said, “Our country is under siege by armed bandits, all over the country when some few years ago, I warned
