APC Shuns Akan Udofia's Gov. Bid

It has been revealed that Obong Akanimo Udofia's dream of governing Akwa Ibom State may be long in coming.

Days after his controversial victory at the hastily contrived All Progressive Congress(APC) governorship primary in Uyo, party officials are hesitant to validate the nomination in Abuja, the Nigerian Capital.

A ranking party official who would not have his name in print told the reporter that the national body is prepared to distance itself from the Akwa Ibom Guber nomination in order to protect it's credibility.

He said," As a party,we do not condone sharp and unethical practises that hamper the growth of democracy. What happened in Akwa Ibom was a mockery of internal party democracy".

He disclosed that some members of the electoral panel were forced against their will to conduct and announce the" staged primary in the dead of the night".

Udofia,a private entrepreneur with no history of political participation got into the Akwa Ibom State governorship race under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party before decamping to the APC,a few days to the primaries.
