THE CONTEST AGAINST THE RELOCATION OF IBAKA DEEP SEA PORT (IDSP): MATTERS - ARISING

THE CONTEST AGAINST THE RELOCATION OF IBAKA DEEP SEA PORT (IDSP): MATTERS - ARISING  I have keenly followed the issues arising from the vexed contest against the relocation of Ibaka Deep Sea Port, a rare happening in very recent time in Oro Nation. This show of unity, togetherness and commitment rekindling Oro known age long ‘Afangkism’ and ‘Oroism’ philosophical tenets has been inspired by our indefatigable Engr. Okon  Nkpubre, the worthy and celebrated Chairman of Oro Technical Committee on Ibaka Deep Sea Port (Techcom on Ibaka Deep Sea Port).  I am seriously compelled to write these critical views of mine to join in advising my people of Oro Nation against allowing internal bickering to divide us at the point when victory against sustained oppression and injustice, and at the time the whole world is beginning to understand why the people of Oro have to frontally and fiercely contest this anomaly. Let me highlight and address the Matters - arising for ease of understanding as follow

AKWA IBOM STATE GOVERNMENT'S PLAN TO RUBBISH ORO REVEALED!!!

AKWA IBOM STATE GOVERNMENT'S PLAN TO RUBBISH ORO REVEALED!!! 1. Bring them to be part of the State Government Implementation Committee, so that we will tell the whole world that Oro people have aligned with the state government, and have sent us their 4 tested and trusted sons to be part of the committee.   2. Let us trick them to use another letterhead to do all their transactions with us henceforth, so that the Oron Union will be kept very far from the struggle.   3. They're bringing this satanic strategy because, only the Oron Union who started the fight from the beginning has the mandate of Oro people to stop the state government again in case of any disagreement.   4. The committee should be led by H.E. Amb. Sir Etim Udo Uye, because everybody in Oro believes whatever he endorses is regarded as being authentic in Oro.   5. Let us use our agents in Oro to engage and distract them, so that they will be divided and won't come together to plan their visit to the national

Oro nation, let's us reason together.

*LET'S STOP AND PONDER OVER OUR ACTION(S), INACTION(S) AND REACTION(S), LEST WE LEAD ORO ASTRAY BECAUSE WE DO NOT WANT TO RESPECT INSTITUTION(S)* 1. *If the 3 wise men, later enlarged to the 88 forebears (founders) of Oron Union were not mistaken in 1925 (96 years ago) in reasoning that having a body corporate in the mould and structure of Oron Union, where Oro people could speak with one voice and have the interests of Oro defended was appropriate, then there is obviously something mischievous about the current attempt to decimate Oron Union from performing its core role to Oro at this most auspicious time.* 2. *If Oron Union is an all-inclusive umbrella of Oro people, at home and in the diaspora, with membership open automatically to all Oro-blooded indigenes by birth, through identification of paternity or maternity in any of the 11 Clans of Oro and membership by enlistment in any of Oron Union Branches and its affiliates worldwide, then every Oro person is duty-bound to make

Oro, beware of Spoilers and Saboteurs

ORO, BEWARE OF SPOILERS AND SABOTEURS. There is a group in Oro Nation who, because of their political and business interests want to supress the agitation of Oron People against unbridled  deprivation of Oron Nation  by the Government of Akwa Ibom State especially  the Ibaka Deep Sea Port relocation agitation. Oron People must beware  of  the antics of this group whose motive is not in the interests of the Oron struggle.  They may appear to be suing for peace and reconciliation in Oron Nation but their ultimate goal is to subdue strong opposition to any plan of Akwa Ibom State Government by Oron People even when such a plan is outrightly oppressive to Oron Nation. This is a regroup of people who openly rebuked the Oron Techcom for forwarding the Petition of Oron People against Ibaka Deep Sea Port relocation to the Core Investor and  pushed the PGOU to attempt to disband the Techcom. These are people who stopped the protest of Oron Youths against the none recognition of Oron Nation

Nigeria Becoming A Strategic Failure...

Nigeria Becoming A Strategic Failure and Irrelevant to the World  ~ Princeton Lyman A thought provoking piece! Princeton N. Lyman, the former U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria and South Africa, delivered a very poignant speech on the panel titled “The Nigerian State and U.S. Strategic Interests” at the Achebe Colloquium at Brown University, USA. Thank you very much Prof. Keller and thanks to the organizers of this conference. It is such a privilege to be here in a conference in honor of Prof. Achebe, an inspiration and teacher to all of us. I have a long connection to Nigeria. Not only was I Ambassador there, I have travelled to and from Nigeria for a number of years and have a deep and abiding vital emotional attachment to the Nigerian people, their magnificence, their courage, artistic brilliance, their irony, sense of humor in the face of challenges etc. And I hope that we keep that in mind when I say some things that I think are counter to what we normally say about Nigeria. And I say th

Senator Nelson Effiong regains freedom from his abductors.

Senator Nelson Effiong, Abducted ex-Akwa Ibom Senator, regains freedom.   METRO By INIOBONG EKPONTA - Uyo On Oct 17, 2021 After more than one month in kidnappers’ den, the immediate past Senator representing Eket Senatorial District (Akwa Ibom South), Chief Nelson Effiong, has been left off the hook of his abductors, the Police confirmed at the weekend.   Effiong, former Speaker of the state House of Assembly for Oron/Udung Ukoduring the era of Obong Victor Attah, as governor, was seized in his exquisite sit-out along Oron road by armed gunmen, on September 6, 2021.   The kidnappers, who whisked him away after spontaneous gunshots at the pub, had demanded N200million, but the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Superintendent Odiko Macdon, who disclosed this at the state headquarters, Ikot Akpanabia, near Uyo, the state capital, could not ascertain whether any ransom was paid to effect his release. “I am not aware whether any ransom was paid, but I can tell you that Senator Effi
