ORO, BEWARE OF SPOILERS AND SABOTEURS.
There is a group in Oro Nation who, because of their political and business interests want to supress the agitation of Oron People against unbridled deprivation of Oron Nation by the Government of Akwa Ibom State especially the Ibaka Deep Sea Port relocation agitation. Oron People must beware of the antics of this group whose motive is not in the interests of the Oron struggle.
They may appear to be suing for peace and reconciliation in Oron Nation but their ultimate goal is to subdue strong opposition to any plan of Akwa Ibom State Government by Oron People even when such a plan is outrightly oppressive to Oron Nation.
This is a regroup of people who openly rebuked the Oron Techcom for forwarding the Petition of Oron People against Ibaka Deep Sea Port relocation to the Core Investor and pushed the PGOU to attempt to disband the Techcom. These are people who stopped the protest of Oron Youths against the none recognition of Oron Nation as oil producing community which has up to now not been realized. When aggrieved Oron Lawyers went to Court and got a plea by the Government of Akwa Ibom State for out of Court settlement, these people made us to believe that it was their intervention that made the plea for out of Court settlement possibly. Now that the Government has back pedalled on out of Court settlement they have kept mute. Very soon they will start paying money for people to attend meetings to argue why Oro must withdraw the case from the Court as demanded by the Governor instead of Adjournment for out of Court settlement which is the proper procedure in the interest of Oro Nation.
This group do not want to be seen by the Governor as being part of the agitation against the marginalization of Oron Nation. They want the Governor to see them as the good people who protect the interest of the Governor in Oron. They leak information from Oron Platforms to the Governor. They have insinuated to the Governor that the Oron Redemption Fund is to raise money to fight the Governor. They even have the audacity to question the operation of the Fund which is meant basically to fund our Court Cases. They do not support any litigation against the Government.
We must begin to watch the activities of this group and campaign against them. This group might have been funded by the Government of Akwa Ibom State to subdue the agitation of Oron People against marginalization which has now been brought to National and international attention. That's why they have funds to organise unauthorised meetings and pay money to people who attend.
Oron People especially the Youths must shine their eyes. The agitation against the marginalization of Oron Nation is in the interests of the Youths. The video clip of the inauguration of the Steering Committee for Ibaka Deep Sea Port by the Honourable Ministers of Transport in 2012 says it all. Imagine having the biggest Deep Sea Port in the whole of West and Central Africa in Ibaka together with a Shipyard to drydock big Oil Tankers as was the plan of the Federal Government. Oron Nation will be like Liverpool of the UK. These saboteurs who don't want you to confront your oppressors want to mortgage your future and that of your children. Confront them anywhere you see them. They don't mean well for you.

Akan Udofia's Governorship Quest Hits Brick wall. By Udofia Anana It is not yet Uhuru for Obong Akanimo Udofia whose APC governorship nomination was announced amidst widespread protests in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital city, recently. The announcement which came after a hurried midnight poll has been roundly rejected by party members and close party watchers. Obong Udofia, known to many as AK,was a governorship aspirant in the Peoples Democratic Party, until four days to the APC primaries in the state. An APC stalwart who spoke to the reporter on the condition of anonymity in Uyo said Akan Udofia's Governorship candidacy lacks credibility because he was not elected by party delegates. According to him," After waiting at the party Secretariat on Ekpo Obot street, Uyo for eight hours,we were told to go home, that the nomination had been postponed till the next day. It was therefore shocking to hear that Obong Akanimo Udofia was elected in the night after th...
