During the monthly general meeting of the APC in Udung Uko Ward 3 which took place at Eyo's compound in Eyosung village yesterday, the 4th of August 2022, the elders of the party with permission from the ward and chapter executives from the ward nominated the Udung Uko born ex army special force to be their political leader, stating that the award winning Oro activist posses the quality of being fit into that office. 





The Vice Chairman of APC in Udung Uko Chapter who also hails from Ward 3, Comrade Samuel Iyohokwa commended Captain Effiong for his love for Oro issues in general, and the party in particular. He added that nomination of Captain Eyo as their political leader was a round peck in a round hole.


Architect Rex Ubokulo, a retired civil servant and an elder of the party in the ward expressed his satisfaction and said the emergence of his younger brother is the best thing that can happen to their ward and adviced him to ensure he allows everyone to get what belongs to him or her when it is due.  The ward chairman, Comrade Edet Okon Edet popularly known as Humble, after receiving new members into the party, expressed his happiness too and told everyone that Captain Effiong Eyo was already acting in the capacity of a leader in Udung Uko APC, and he has never disappointed the community, before, during and after his voluntarily retirement from the army, and urged everyone in Udung Uko Ward 3 to give him maximum support to enable him lead them well.



With excitement, Captain Effiong Eyo Rtd who was taken unaware by his people to be their leader, accepted the offer and promised his people good leadership, such that will make the APC in Udung Uko Ward 3 to be more stronger, united and progressive. He started his acceptance speech by educating his people on the state of insecurity in the country with tips on how to overcome being taken unaware by the terrorists who are already all over our communities in Akwa Ibom State. 



When asked which faction of the APC in the state he belongs, Captain Effiong told his people that he believes in one strong united and indivisible APC, and appealed to them to work together and disregard any fake news they hear from anyone, and that the party in the state is one just like the party in the national. He advised them to remain steadfast, unmovable to enjoy what they have laboured for, and that anyone who is trying to labour now as some young people who know nothing about Nigeria politics are doing now will take them longer time to reap the fruits of their labour.
