Larry Esin 2023 Campaign Organization has been drawn to a press release by Obong Akan Udofia Campaign Organization which was signed by the Director-General, Chief Don Etim. In the release, the Council made efforts to give what it believes to be an account of series of political incidents and processes leading to the now annulled Akwa Ibom APC Governorship Primaries Election. In paragraph 9 of the press release under reference, the Campaign Organization erroneously mentioned the name of our Principal and leading 2023 APC Governorship Aspirant for Akwa Ibom; Engr. Larry Esin as one of those who _"...were physically present at the venue of the Primaries and participated in the exercise which culminated in the declaration of Obong Akan Udofia as Governorship Candidate_ _of the APC in Akwa Ibom State having scor...

Ita Enang Brags

Today, the Court has delivered Judgement in the case I instituted at the Federal High Court Uyo and has nullified and affirmed the position of INEC that "there was no nomination by APC in Akwa Ibom State because INEC did not monitor the primary". and of course we also contended that under the Electoral Act, the first defendant who was wrongly declared a candidate is not a member of the APC and can not contest election. So the Court has upheld our position in Law and has disqualified him (Akanimo Udofia) and has ordered another nomination within 14 (Fourteen) days to be conducted by the Party. I am the Governorship candidate of the APC incoming and I ask God for his absolute grace to go through the challenges ahead.

In a suit number FHC/UY/144/2022, a former aide to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita Enang, had gone to court claiming the APC primary was characterised by several illegalities. In a judgement on Monday, Justice Agatha Okeke cancelled the APC primary and ordered the party to conduct another primary within two weeks. Justice Okeke also dismissed the purported waiver granted Udofia and ordered the party to conduct another primary in a fortnight where authentic governorship flag bearer of APC in the State will emerge. The former defence minister, who insisted on self-defence to drive out country’s common “enemy”, said Nigeria will be finished if this is not done. The octogenarian spoke on Saturday when he delivered a goodwill message in Wukari, Taraba State, where Governor Darius Ishaku presented staff of office to His Majesty Manu Ishaku Adda Ali, the 25th Aku Uka. He knocked the military for living in denial over Nigeria’s aggravating security challenges, saying the “evidence” of what he said four years ago is now obvious for all eyes to see. Danjuma had in March 2018 urged Nigerians to defend themselves against their killers but his call for self-defence attracted stark criticisms. Four years later, the former defence chief on Saturday said, “Our country is under siege by armed bandits, all over the country when some few years ago, I wa...

A'IBOM 2023: THE ENTERPRISE OF HOPE By UdemeAbasi Udofa

A'IBOM 2023: THE ENTERPRISE OF HOPE By UdemeAbasi Udofa The odds had been running even in the race for the Hilltop Mansion in Akwa Ibom State in the 2023 governorship elections. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is easily the most dominant party on ground having produced leadership at all levels in the state since 1999. Therefore,it usually holds that the party's primaries are the real elections before the general elections. Whoever is picked by the party becomes the governor -in -waiting as the elections approach. In 1999,Obong Victor Attah of the PDP beat his opposite number in the All People's Party to clinch the coveted crown. His second term was a mere walk over. The party repeated this feat in 2007 when it's candidate, Chief Godswill Akpabio beat John Akpan Udoedehe of the Action Congress of Nigeria to become the third executive governor of the emerging state. He easily trounced his opponents in his second term bid in 2011. The winning ways of the PDP also produ...
